Thank you for visiting my website!  I am Janise N. Smith, a freelance writer, word puzzle designer and novelist currently residing in Raleigh, North Carolina. 

     My professional background also includes fundraising, insurance, marketing, and consulting.  I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Written Communications with a minor in English Literature from Eastern Michigan University.  I volunteered as a tutor for four years for Literacy Volunteers of America and in 2001 received the Spirit of Detroit Award for my service.  I began writing full time in 2009 and I offer my writing and editing services to individual and corporate clients across the country.

    When I'm not writing, I enjoy reading, cooking, listening to jazz, going to the movies and watching old sitcom reruns. I plan to publish a second novel by the end of 2012 as well as launch a greeting card line.
